The response has been strong, and one point needs to be made clear moving forward:

Submissions must be fully edited and properly formatted before submission.

This is a professional publication. Clean work reflects serious intent.

    This issue centers on transformation.

    At its core, we’re asking:
What happens when identity shifts… and what remains?

Keep your approach focused. Avoid overcomplicating the prompt. Strong, clear storytelling wins.

    SIMPLIFIED PROMPT DIRECTION (WITH EXAMPLES)

    • Identity Shift
You wake up as someone of a different race, gender, or social class. What changes? What doesn’t?

    • Perspective Change
You live one day in a life completely different from yours. What do you learn?

    • Power & Privilege
You gain or lose privilege overnight. How does the world respond?

    • Instinct vs Humanity
You experience life through pure instinct. What truths surface?

    • Truth vs Perception
The world sees you one way, but your reality says otherwise. What breaks?

    • Memory & Identity
You carry memory from another culture, species, or lifetime. How does it shape you?

    • Core Self
Everything external changes. What part of you remains?

    SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    • Maximum of 3 submissions per contributor
    • Include a 70-word author bio
    • Poetry: up to 24 lines or 200 words

The Present Smells Like a Rose: A Poetic Masterclass in Grace and Resilience by KPC  Some poems don’t ask for attention. They earn it—line by line, breath by breath. In this latest feature from Krafty Page ChronicleS , Vo Thi Nhu Mai delivers a piece that doesn’t just sit on the page. It moves. It carries weight.
