THE SONG OF LIFE | Võ Thi Nhu Mai

Image
The Song of Life A Reflection on the Poetry of Vo Thi Nhu Mai Some poems tell stories. Others quietly awaken something within us. The Song of Life by Vo Thi Nhu Mai is one of those rare works that encourages us to slow down and consider the fragile beauty of existence. Rather than offering certainty, it gently reminds us that life's greatest lessons are often found in its impermanence. The repeated words, "If we knew," invite readers to reflect on how differently we might live if we truly understood how brief each season, relationship, and opportunity can be. Every stanza reveals another layer of gratitude, vulnerability, and hope. Spring, clouds, waves, sunlight, and roses become symbols of life's passing moments. They remind us that beauty is not meant to be possessed but appreciated while it is present. The poem encourages us to embrace love, accept sorrow, and recognize that even pain can shape wisdom. The closing verses reveal the heart of the poem. ...

The Mask We Marry: When Theatre, Philosophy, and Psychology Meet

Image
By Nelly Vee During one of my college courses in Theatre Aesthetics , I found myself thinking about something that extended far beyond the stage. Theatre teaches us about characters, costumes, scripts, lighting, and performance. Philosophy asks why we exist and what it means to be authentic. Psychology examines the mind, behavior, trauma, and the ways we protect ourselves. Somewhere between those three disciplines, a question settled into my thoughts: What if the greatest performance we ever witness is not on a stage? What if it is in our relationships? That question became The Mask We Marry . Life Is a Stage Long Before We Enter a Theatre There is an old saying that the eyes are the windows to the soul. But no one tells you how many curtains we hang over those windows. We call those curtains confidence. We call them strength. We call them success. We call them humor. Sometimes we even call them love. Yet beneath every smile is a conversation the lips refuse ...

What About Him

Image
What About Him? Written by © Nelly Vee 2026 He learned her sadness by memory. Not casually. Not occasionally. But intimately. He knew the difference between her tired silence and her breaking silence. He recognized the weight in her breathing before she even admitted something was wrong. He memorized the pauses between her words, the ones quietly asking, “Hold me together because I am falling apart again.” And he always did. Every single time. He became her shelter without ever asking for recognition. Late-night conversations became routine. He answered calls while half asleep, talked her through anxiety, sat patiently through emotional storms, and carried her pain as though it were his responsibility to make it lighter. When life bruised her spirit, she came to him. And no matter what he was personally carrying, he opened the door emotionally. Even...

The Beauty They Told Her to Hide

Image
Written by Nelly Vee The Beauty They Told Her to Hide She pulls her shirt down sometimes, not because she’s cold, but because the world taught her to hide the evidence of becoming. Those lines across her stomach, those soft tears in the skin, those marks she studies in silence when nobody’s looking… they are not flaws. They are proof she carried life inside her. A woman’s body does not lose beauty after childbirth. It reveals another kind. The kind built from sleepless nights, pushing through pain, holding families together while still trying to hold herself together too. Too many women stand in mirrors judging the very body that performed miracles. Ashamed of stretched skin. Ashamed of weight gained. ...

Goodbye Without Noise

Image
It didn’t start loud. No fireworks. No illusions. Just two people crossing paths like it was meant to mean something. And for a while, it did. He wasn’t the type to play games. What he gave was real. Time. Presence. Consistency. The kind of love that doesn’t need to be announced because it shows up. She saw it. She felt it. But somewhere along the way, feeling it wasn’t enough to protect it. Things didn’t break all at once. They shifted. Energy changed. Conversations got shorter. Eyes stopped holding the same truth. He noticed. Of course he did. But he’s not built to accuse without cause. He watches. He reads. He understands. Then one day, the truth surfaced like it had been waiting its turn. She stepped outside of what they built. Not by accident. Not by confusion. By choice. And that’s what mattered most. He didn’t argue. Didn’t raise his voice. Didn’t chase an explanation that wouldn’t fix anything. He just stood there for a moment, processing what he already felt coming. You can te...

An Angel’s Whisper

Image
An Angel’s Whisper By Nelly Vee Article by KPC (Krafty Page ChronicleS) Have you ever heard a voice that didn’t just reach your ears—but went straight for your soul? Some moments don’t knock before they enter. They just arrive, settle in, and change something inside you. This piece sits in that space—where a voice meets the spirit and leaves something behind. ✦ ✦ ✦ Press play, then read. ✦ ✦ ✦ You Know What You Did Last Night! I Heard It! It was a night I never expected, To be graced with a voice so angelic. The symphony of its composure, Was something my soul was never prepared for. A voice that shocked my spirit back to the heart of its origin. So pure, the melody of its tenor cascading— Like water, like rain, like a warm liquid, Poured over every fiber of my existence from head to toe; A sensation so warm, arousing, and stimulating. Through every nerve, through every vein, Cutting deep—right down to the bone and marrow. ...

The High Stakes of Toxic Gravity: An Exploration of "Dark Venom"

Image
The High Stakes of Toxic Gravity: An Exploration of "Dark Venom" In this featured installment from Krafty Page ChronicleS (February–March 2026), a different kind of narrative takes hold—one that doesn’t soften impact or dilute truth. Drawn from Chronicles: Light, Shadow, Flame , "Dark Venom" moves beyond storytelling and into psychological exposure. This is not about heartbreak. This is about misjudgment, attraction, and the cost of ignoring what was clear from the beginning. The Refrain of Attraction: Heat. Lightning. Sweet. Poison. The rhythm is deliberate. “Heat. Lightning. Sweet. Poison.” becomes the language of the experience—fast, intense, and repetitive. Not a moment of clarity, but a cycle of return. The relationship is built on contrast, not compatibility. Sun and Moon. Mars and Venus. A collision rather than alignment. The term “Afro Medusa” captures more than presence—it defines impact. A force that freezes logic and redirects focu...

Always in My Thoughts

Image
Always in My Thoughts By Nelly Vee Article by KPC (Krafty Page ChronicleS) Have you ever felt someone so deeply… that even distance couldn’t silence their presence? Some connections don’t fade with time or space. They move differently—quiet, steady, and constant. This piece lives in that space, where thought becomes touch and memory becomes presence. ✦ ✦ ✦ Press play, then read. ✦ ✦ ✦ What have you been doing today? So many issues to deal with on your plate, so much to endure when away. He wishes to be there with you every step of the way. Do you even make time just for you—time to breathe? He prays to be there soon, to lend a helping hand, to help ease your burdens and pains. He hopes that when you finally get a break, in between, you think of Him. Every time you do, be assured he’s thinking of you—willing his strength into your veins, helping you get through it. Hoping that when you picture him standing in your presence, you will fin...

Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing

Image
Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing Some love is loud. It demands attention, speaks often, and seeks to be seen. But then there is another kind… quiet, steady, and unwavering. “Lighthouse” reflects a presence that does not chase, yet never disappears. A love that remains rooted, even when distance, silence, or darkness tries to interrupt the connection. The lighthouse does not move. It does not panic in the storm. It stands… and shines. Not for recognition, but for direction. This piece speaks to emotional consistency—the kind that doesn’t flicker when life shifts. It is about being a safe place, a point of return, a quiet assurance that no matter how far one drifts, there is always something guiding them back. Excerpt from “Lighthouse” “My heart stands like a lighthouse, steady against every storm… Its light does not fade, it calls your name in silence… And in...

The Shadow of a Woman — Beyond What the Eye Sees

Image
The Shadow of a Woman — Beyond What the Eye Sees Some people look, but never truly observe. This piece is not about looking—it is about recognizing value that cannot be measured by surface perception. “Some men look… but never truly see.” This opening challenges a common behavioral gap: attention without understanding. It separates admiration from awareness. True perception requires depth, not assumption. Beyond Appearance: The Shift in Perception The idea of a woman being more than what is visible becomes the foundation of this reflection. She is not defined by presence alone, but by impact. Loyalty, peace, emotional grounding, and resilience form the architecture of her value. “She is his Rock… his city and state… his lighthouse in the storm.” This excerpt reframes love as stability and direction. The metaphors are not decorative—they are structural. Rock represents grounding. Lighthouse represents guida...

Man Versus Light — When Strength Meets Surrender

Image
Man Versus Light — When Strength Meets Surrender A man is taught to be fearless. To protect. To stand firm. But what happens when strength meets something it cannot fight… only feel? “Man Versus Light” is not a battle of dominance. It’s a confrontation with something more powerful than fear—a presence so radiant it strips away armor without force. He is not afraid of danger. He is afraid of falling short. Afraid that the light before him deserves more than he can give. And in that moment… he is revealed. Because real strength isn’t resistance. It’s responsibility. The moth to flame. The wolf to the moon. The knight undone by presence. This isn’t weakness—it’s instinct meeting truth. He does not dim her light. He fuels it. Love becomes action. Presence. Consistency. The daily choice to keep her light alive. Excerpt “Don’t ever turn off that inner light. If you do, how wo...

Priceless — A Reflection on Worth and True Love

Image
Priceless — A Reflection on Worth and True Love Some things in life are discovered, not because they were hidden… but because no one else was looking closely enough. In “Priceless” , what begins as a simple observation of a stone becomes a revelation of value, identity, and truth. What others dismiss as ordinary, one man recognizes as extraordinary. Beneath the rough exterior lies something rare, something untouched… something sacred. But this isn’t just a story about a stone. It’s about you . The ruby hidden within the fallen star represents a truth many struggle to accept: real value isn’t assigned by the world—it’s embedded by design. Too often, people are mishandled, overlooked, or even damaged by those who fail to recognize their worth. And sometimes, the greatest danger isn’t being unseen… it’s being possessed, controlled, or diminished by someone who mistakes value for ownership. “Priceless” draws a cl...

Mirror Trap — A Reflection from Midnight Rendezvous

Image
Mirror Trap — A Reflection from Midnight Rendezvous Some encounters are not meant to introduce us to others… but to ourselves. In Chronicles—Where Shadows Breathe , the piece “Mirror Trap” from Midnight Rendezvous unfolds like a quiet revelation wrapped in desire, illusion, and truth. At first glance, it feels like attraction. A pull. A moment where one becomes captivated by another’s presence. But as the lines settle in, something deeper begins to surface. The “stranger” is not entirely foreign. The fire in his eyes is not his own. What feels like fascination quickly becomes reflection. What feels like pursuit becomes realization. This is where the trap reveals itself. We are often drawn to what mirrors something within us—our desires, our wounds, our unanswered questions. Like a moth to flame, we move closer, believing we are chasing something external, when in truth, we are confronting something internal. The int...

What a Shadow Remembers: Reflection, Poetry, and Life Lessons

Image
What a Shadow Remembers: Reflection, Poetry, and Life Lessons Excerpt: “They hold the memory of every step you’ve taken, every corner you’ve turned, every moment you tried to leave behind. They wait in the quiet, in the places we don’t dare to look.” It’s easy to forget the warmth of sunlight on your skin, yet the shadows of our past never truly let go. In this reflective exploration, consider how experiences we try to leave behind still shape us — how the quiet moments carry lessons we often overlook. The Hidden Wisdom in Shadows Shadows hold the memory of every step, every corner, and every word left unsaid. They remind us that life’s experiences, even the painful or unspoken, carry insight. Through poetry, we can reflect on these moments and see the invisible threads connecting our past to our present. “The angriest bull to tame is the one within.” – Vee Nelly Reflection and Self-Awareness Excerpt: “Walking ...

Trapped

Image
Trapped Sometimes I long to feel the sun upon my skin, but my hurt, my pain, my tears of rain keep drowning me. I wonder — am I going insane? If only I could breach the surface above, I would become as free as a little bird flying the longing sky in the glare of the sun. But I am trapped beneath. Oh God, can You hear my cries in this ocean so deep? Can anyone see my face? Lend a hand, pull me out of this disgrace. I must keep pressing on that matrix mirror, my face resting upon it beneath. I don’t know anymore which is up or down. I look up every time the moon and sun rise, but I see no one — only my reflection. Someone help me! “Who am I?” It is the question we all ask ourselves throughout our lifetime, whether we admit it or not. Some say that when you are about to die, your entire life flashes before your eyes. Well, in my case, my life flashed before my eyes on many occasions, but I didn’t die. I didn’t want to die. But now… What is an island but a body of land surrou...

Man Versus Light – Poetry by Nelly Vee on SoundCloud

Image
Man Versus Light Written many moons ago by Nelly Vee and published in the poetry collection Chronicles — Where Shadows Breathe , Man Versus Light is a lyrical reflection on strength, vulnerability, and the disarming power of love. The piece captures the inner voice of a man raised to be fearless, a protector by nature, who suddenly finds himself undone by the quiet brilliance of a woman whose presence feels almost celestial. Through rich imagery of light, fire, wolves, and the moon, the song explores the tension between pride and surrender. The narrator compares himself to a moth drawn helplessly toward a radiant flame. Her gaze becomes more than beauty—it becomes revelation, exposing the hidden thoughts and guarded emotions behind the armor he once believed defined his strength. At its core, the piece examines a deeper truth about love. The man is not afraid of the woman herself. He fears only the possibility that he may not be able to give her everything she deserves. Ye...
