The other insists it must remain friendship. So a simple question rises between them: If it is friendship, then where are its boundaries? Where do the lines live? But she offers no definition. Instead, she retreats inward, protecting the fragile places within her. She admits only this. She is complicated. She is still broken in places. And until those pieces are gathered and made whole again, she is not ready to call it anything more than friendship.
