The Gift of Time and Connection

Image
The Gift of Time and Connection What is the greatest gift someone could give you? The greatest gift someone could give me is the gift of time and genuine connection. Time is precious, and when someone willingly offers theirs to listen, share, or simply be present without distraction, it shows true care and commitment. Genuine connection—where conversations are meaningful, and there’s mutual understanding and respect—creates bonds that surpass material gifts. Beyond that, offering support in ways that align with my goals and values, like sharing wisdom, encouragement , or even collaborating creatively, is priceless . It’s about those moments where actions affirm that they truly see and value the person I am. #GiftOfTime, #GenuineConnection, #MeaningfulConversations, #CreativeCollaboration, #SupportAndEncouragement, #PricelessMoments, #NellyVee, #PersonalReflection, #MindfulPresence, #ConnectionMatters

My Top 5 Grocery Lifelines

Image
My Top 5 Grocery Lifelines (And Why Ramen Wins Every Time) Let’s be real: grocery shopping is part survival, part chaos, and part “please tell me I’m adulting correctly.” After much research (a.k.a. staring at my fridge and judging my choices), here are my ride-or-die items: Eggs: The Swiss Army knife of food. Scrambled, fried, boiled, or pretending to be fancy in a soufflé—they always save the day. Fresh vegetables (spinach, broccoli, bell peppers): Because apparently “health” is still a thing… even if my taste buds occasionally stage a rebellion against broccoli. Lean protein (chicken, fish, or tofu): Keeps me full, keeps me human, and stops my stomach from staging a mutiny during Netflix marathons. Fresh fruit (bananas, berries, or apples): Nature’s candy that makes me feel like I’ve got my life together… until it turns into a science experiment in the back of the fridge. Ramen noodles: The ultimate wingman. When everything else fails, it’s there—loyal,...

Chronicles—Where Shadows Breathe

Image
CHRONICLES — WHERE SHADOWS BREATHE Price: $5.99 Dear Reader, Welcome to Chronicles — Where Shadows Breathe . This book is more than a collection of words—it is a journey through extremes: fire and ice, joy and pain, love and loss, light and shadow. At times we burn, at times we freeze; pain has a way of shifting us between the two. This fifth edition brings together my most recent works alongside earlier collections. While Visions of Prosetry was inspired by picture prompts, the pieces in Chronicles draw life and energy from word prompts—sparks that ignite stories, poems, and reflections directly from language itself. This collection captures a fresh, immediate exploration of emotion, experience, and insight, complementing earlier imagery-inspired works. These pages gather the essence of my life’s work— Poetic Knight , Thorns & Roses , MidKnight Rendezvous , Urban Prose & Short Stories , and the fully realized Visions of Prosetry —showing the dualities that shap...

How Are You Creative?

Image
Daily writing prompt How are you creative? View all responses   Creativity, for me, is a scar that learned how to speak. It doesn’t arrive polished or rehearsed—it rises from lived hours, from pressure, from moments that left marks and demanded meaning. I create the way a river carves stone: not loudly, not quickly, but with certainty that something will give. My writing is a workshop, not a showroom. I break language down to its bones, test its strength, then rebuild it until it can carry truth without collapsing under decoration. Words become tools, not ornaments—hammers for clarity, mirrors for accountability, bridges for understanding. If a sentence can’t hold weight, it doesn’t stay. I am creative in how I turn chaos into structure. I take loose threads—memory, conflict, silence—and weave them into frameworks where others can stand, breathe, and see themselves more clearly. This is not inspiration as impulse; this is craftsmanship under pressure. Fire makes st...

Who I Write For

Image
Who Do I Write For—and Why That Audience Matters I have asked myself this question more times than I can count, and the answer has never stayed the same. It evolves as I evolve. What I know now is that I don’t write to fill space or chase approval—I write to make sense of what I carry. Early Challenges: Uncertainty Early on, one of the hardest challenges I faced was uncertainty. I wrote without knowing who was listening, if anyone was listening at all. I questioned whether my voice was too heavy, too quiet, too honest. That uncertainty made feedback feel personal, even when it was well‑intentioned. The Challenge of Feedback Asking for feedback required a level of vulnerability I wasn’t always prepared for. Some responses sharpened me. Others bruised me. There were moments when feedback felt less like guidance and more like dismissal, as if the soul of the work had been skimmed rather than understood. I learned quickly that not all feedback is equal. Some people re...

Quiet Progress, Real Growth

Image
What are your biggest challenges? My biggest challenge right now is learning how to slow my mind down. I tend to think far ahead, focusing on where I’m trying to go instead of recognizing how far I’ve already come. I notice this most when I’m working on long-term goals and start feeling impatient with the process. Even when progress is happening, it doesn’t always feel like enough. Dealing with this is teaching me how to be more present, more disciplined, and more honest with myself. It’s helping me understand that growth doesn’t always look loud or fast, but it’s still real and meaningful.

The Silence I Inherited

Image
I used to believe silence meant maturity. That quiet was a sign of discipline, of knowing when to hold my tongue. No one told me otherwise— it was simply modeled, passed down, and expected. I grew up in rooms where conversations ended before they began. Where emotions were felt but rarely named. Where survival meant staying composed, not speaking up. Silence wasn’t enforced. It was inherited. Silence became a language in my family. One that translated to don’t ask too much, don’t push back, don’t disrupt the balance. I learned how to listen deeply and speak sparingly. How to absorb tension and call it normal. For years, I wore that skill like a badge of honor. I thought restraint meant strength. But silence carries weight. It settles in the chest. Tightens the throat. Teaches the body to brace for conversations that never happen. Writing became the one place where silence couldn’t follow me. On the page, it cracked. It leake...

If Friendship Has No Edges

Image
Written by Nelly Vee and Dedicated to MW You said, let us just be friends. And the word just settled between us like a line drawn lightly, there but not permanent. Then you told me you feel broken, that you need to fix yourself first. I heard you. And I want you to know I do not see a broken woman. I see someone rebuilding with honesty. The truth is, I have already fallen for you. Not recklessly. Not out of loneliness. But with the quiet certainty of a man who recognizes something real. Still, I respect where you stand. So I ask myself, what does a man do when the friendship you want has no clear edges? He does not pressure. He does not rush. He does not pretend his feelings do not exist. He shows up steady. I will not shrink how I feel. But I will not force you to move faster than your healing. If you need time, take it. If you need space, have it. If what you can offer right now is friendship, then I will meet you there with sincerity, not denial. ...
