MidKnight Rendezvous: Episode One — The Beginning

By Nelly Vee

MidKnight Rendezvous is the sequel to the prose story “Knock, Knock,” found in Chronicles—Where Shadows Breathe. This installment blends romance and fantasy with a refined, mildly provocative edge that invites readers into a deeper emotional and spiritual experience.

The story follows two beings from separate realms. One grounded in reality, facing pain and survival. The other exists within a spiritual dimension where time carries meaning. When they meet, something dormant awakens… and nothing remains the same.

The Beginning

Choices

Texas-born, island-raised, he once asked you, “Would you take a cruise with me?”
Your response—“I don’t know”—was neutral. The question itself was hypothetical, yet it lingered.
Having to question the why left him to wonder: in the end, the guy you’re with now—maybe with him—will you continue the journey, or will it be different?
Curious, you asked him the first thing he would do if ever freed.
He simply told you to listen to the words of a song by Avant. In summary, it’s called “Sailing.”

It’s You (Episode Two)

… Readying to go out at dusk that day, a “Knock, Knock!” –at his door, who it was, he couldn’t say.
Surprised to see you standing there, pulling you close, cheek to cheek, he holds you near. Gentle, he whispers, “Have no fear.”
The wisp of air breathe into you makes your soul shiver. Electricity down the spine to your toes, Nelly just lit your fever.
Collapse in his arms, laying you in silk beddings. You are stunned, delirious, too many emotions coursing through, messing with your settings. Your moans to him just weren’t clear.
“You need to rest,” he pleads as you close your eyes, falling into “Snow White’s” dream.

Are You Awake? (Episode Three)

Opening eyes slowly, the world begins to sharpen. You awaken to the motion of your body, rocking—up, down, around—in a rhythm you know not from.

Lying in cashmere, surrounded by fog-like pillows, you feel suspended in thin air. A gentle breeze brushes over you; below the deck, blood-red wine glistens, candles flicker along the mantle. Around and within you, the moonlight drapes a silver glow, casting shadows that tease the edges of your senses.

Stars twinkle above, sending hidden messages. A warning echoes in your mind:

“Uncharted Dream, Woman, Beware!”

You pull your knees to your chest, hugging yourself, trying to shield from… what? You cannot name the threat, nor the source. Your body, soul, and spirit lie exposed, nude, awaiting the unknown.

Around you, darkness swallows everything except the starlight. In the bow of his yacht, he watches silently from above—a “Lion King” claiming his feline prize. Not frozen, only poised, cool enough to witness each breath you take, inhale the ocean’s deep pheromones.

You float in a space that feels impossibly far, yet familiar. He leans closer in whispers only for you:

“Give your name to me.”

Starboard shadows conceal him, but his eyes betray his desire, captivated entirely. A Celestial Being walks the human plane tonight—his dreams manifest in the flesh.

To be continued...

The Present Smells Like a Rose: A Poetic Masterclass in Grace and Resilience

The Present Smells Like a Rose: A Poetic Masterclass in Grace and Resilience by KPC  Some poems don’t ask for attention. They earn it—line by line, breath by breath. In this latest feature from Krafty Page ChronicleS , Vo Thi Nhu Mai delivers a piece that doesn’t just sit on the page. It moves. It carries weight. It reminds you what quiet strength really looks like. “The Present Smells Like a Rose” is not just poetry—it’s presence. A Journey Through the Stanzas The opening doesn’t hesitate. It establishes identity with clarity and intention: “She enters the world with steady light / History learns her footsteps by heart.” That’s not introduction—that’s declaration. This is a woman who doesn’t wait to be recognized. She becomes the standard. “Steady light” isn’t loud, but it’s undeniable. It doesn’t flicker for approval. It remains. Labour, Culture, and Courage The strength in this piece isn’t one-dimensional. It’s layered, ...

Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing

Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing Some love is loud. It demands attention, speaks often, and seeks to be seen. But then there is another kind… quiet, steady, and unwavering. “Lighthouse” reflects a presence that does not chase, yet never disappears. A love that remains rooted, even when distance, silence, or darkness tries to interrupt the connection. The lighthouse does not move. It does not panic in the storm. It stands… and shines. Not for recognition, but for direction. This piece speaks to emotional consistency—the kind that doesn’t flicker when life shifts. It is about being a safe place, a point of return, a quiet assurance that no matter how far one drifts, there is always something guiding them back. Excerpt from “Lighthouse” “My heart stands like a lighthouse, steady against every storm… Its light does not fade, it calls your name in silence… And in...
