Same Mirror, Different Name — A Reflection on Creation and Truth

Image
Same Mirror, Different Name: Why the “Purist” Narrative is Broken Join  the Conversation Do tools define the artist—or does the artist define the tools? “I’m tired of the sermons on Facebook.” Lately, every post feels “dressed as moral high ground” —quick to criticize book covers, poems, and ideas the moment a digital tool is detected. It’s selective outrage at its finest… “as if intelligence just showed up yesterday.” This reflection holds up a mirror to that mindset. Because the truth is simple—we’ve been quietly outsourcing our authenticity for years, and we’ve been perfectly fine with it until now. The Tools of Becoming We act like machines haven’t been “assisting thought, editing vision, [and] sharpening language” long before this moment. Predictive text finishes our sentences. Software refines our voice. Yet now, suddenly, everyone wants to claim purity. But let’s keep it honest. “Synthetic hair flows convincingly down real backs.” “Bodies rede...

Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing

Image
Lighthouse — A Love That Guides Without Failing Some love is loud. It demands attention, speaks often, and seeks to be seen. But then there is another kind… quiet, steady, and unwavering. “Lighthouse” reflects a presence that does not chase, yet never disappears. A love that remains rooted, even when distance, silence, or darkness tries to interrupt the connection. The lighthouse does not move. It does not panic in the storm. It stands… and shines. Not for recognition, but for direction. This piece speaks to emotional consistency—the kind that doesn’t flicker when life shifts. It is about being a safe place, a point of return, a quiet assurance that no matter how far one drifts, there is always something guiding them back. Excerpt from “Lighthouse” “My heart stands like a lighthouse, steady against every storm… Its light does not fade, it calls your name in silence… And in...

The Shadow of a Woman — Beyond What the Eye Sees

Image
The Shadow of a Woman — Beyond What the Eye Sees Some men look… but never truly see. “The Shadow of a Woman” is a declaration. Not just of beauty, but of recognition. A real man does not stop at appearance—he studies essence. In a world conditioned to chase surface, this piece challenges perception. It reminds us that true value is layered—loyalty, presence, peace, and power wrapped into one soul. She is not just admired—she is understood. The metaphors run deep. Rock. City. Lighthouse. Sun. Moon. Universe. She is stability when the world shifts and direction when the path fades. Because when you encounter something real… you don’t fumble it. 📖 Experience more powerful reflections like this in Chronicles — Where Shadows Breathe . → Get Your Copy Here Excerpt “She is his Rock… his city and state… his lighthouse in the storm. Man Versus Light — When Strength Meets Surrender

Image
Man Versus Light — When Strength Meets Surrender A man is taught to be fearless. To protect. To stand firm. But what happens when strength meets something it cannot fight… only feel? “Man Versus Light” is not a battle of dominance. It’s a confrontation with something more powerful than fear—a presence so radiant it strips away armor without force. He is not afraid of danger. He is afraid of falling short. Afraid that the light before him deserves more than he can give. And in that moment… he is revealed. Because real strength isn’t resistance. It’s responsibility. The moth to flame. The wolf to the moon. The knight undone by presence. This isn’t weakness—it’s instinct meeting truth. He does not dim her light. He fuels it. Love becomes action. Presence. Consistency. The daily choice to keep her light alive. Excerpt “Don’t ever turn off that inner light. If you do, how wo...

Priceless — A Reflection on Worth and True Love

Image
Priceless — A Reflection on Worth and True Love Some things in life are discovered, not because they were hidden… but because no one else was looking closely enough. In “Priceless” , what begins as a simple observation of a stone becomes a revelation of value, identity, and truth. What others dismiss as ordinary, one man recognizes as extraordinary. Beneath the rough exterior lies something rare, something untouched… something sacred. But this isn’t just a story about a stone. It’s about you . The ruby hidden within the fallen star represents a truth many struggle to accept: real value isn’t assigned by the world—it’s embedded by design. Too often, people are mishandled, overlooked, or even damaged by those who fail to recognize their worth. And sometimes, the greatest danger isn’t being unseen… it’s being possessed, controlled, or diminished by someone who mistakes value for ownership. “Priceless” draws a cl...

Mirror Trap — A Reflection from Midnight Rendezvous

Image
Mirror Trap — A Reflection from Midnight Rendezvous Some encounters are not meant to introduce us to others… but to ourselves. In Chronicles—Where Shadows Breathe , the piece “Mirror Trap” from Midnight Rendezvous unfolds like a quiet revelation wrapped in desire, illusion, and truth. At first glance, it feels like attraction. A pull. A moment where one becomes captivated by another’s presence. But as the lines settle in, something deeper begins to surface. The “stranger” is not entirely foreign. The fire in his eyes is not his own. What feels like fascination quickly becomes reflection. What feels like pursuit becomes realization. This is where the trap reveals itself. We are often drawn to what mirrors something within us—our desires, our wounds, our unanswered questions. Like a moth to flame, we move closer, believing we are chasing something external, when in truth, we are confronting something internal. The int...

A Corner That Doesn’t Ask Questions

Image
A Corner That Doesn’t Ask Questions 💡 Daily Writing Prompt: Build your perfect space for reading and writing. What does it feel like? I don’t need a perfect room—just a corner that doesn’t ask questions. A chair that lets me sit with my thoughts long enough for them to stop pretending. Light that doesn’t rush me. Silence that knows when to stay. This is where I read slowly, where words stretch their legs, where writing starts rough and earns its clarity. No ceremony. No performance. Just a place honest enough to let me be. —Nelly Vee Reflection : Creating a personal corner like this reminds us that creativity thrives in spaces of comfort and authenticity. Some eyes don’t just see… they know.

Image
PROLOGUE — ONE BLUE EYE Some eyes don’t just see… they know. There’s something different about Benji. Not just the mismatched eyes, not just the quiet loyalty—but the way he watches. The way he reads what people try to hide. In a world where words can deceive, instinct becomes truth. This exclusive sneak peek from Benjiman Blue by TC Neville Senior pulls you into a moment where tension lingers and shadows move with intention. Sneak Peek: I watched her shadow. It twitched like it wanted to crawl up her leg. Curtis cleared his throat. “Benji.” “Benji,” she repeated, but her voice wavered. Fear… or guilt. Humans think dogs can’t tell the difference. We can. Her shadow stretched again—longer this time. No. I stepped closer and growled low. She froze. Curtis said nothing. But I smelled it. Not fear. Not anger. Suspicion. Shadows don’t lie. People do. And whatever was attached to her… wasn...

Celebrating Cultural Diversity

Image
Celebrating Cultural Diversity: Embracing Humanity in All Its Colors Cultural diversity is more than a concept—it’s a living expression of humanity. It’s the symphony of languages, traditions, beliefs, and creative expressions that shape our world. Our differences are not walls to separate us; they are bridges connecting our shared experiences, histories, and dreams. Through poetry, short stories, and music, we see cultural diversity come alive. Afro-Caribbean writers and artists, for example, use words, rhythm, and visual art as vessels for memory and identity, conveying stories of migration, resilience, and hope. Engaging with these creative forms allows us to witness the profound layers of culture, encouraging empathy and understanding. Every tradition, ritual, or artistic expression offers a lesson, and every story teaches resilience, innovation, and individuality. Ask yourself: How can I honor cultures beyond my own? How can I becom...

What a Shadow Remembers: Reflection, Poetry, and Life Lessons Excerpt: “They hold the memory of every step you’ve taken, every corner you’ve turned, every moment you tried to leave behind. They wait in the quiet, in the places we don’t dare to look.” It’s easy to forget the warmth of sunlight on your skin, yet the shadows of our past never truly let go. In this reflective exploration, consider how experiences we try to leave behind still shape us — how the quiet moments carry lessons we often overlook. The Hidden Wisdom in Shadows Shadows hold the memory of every step, every corner, and every word left unsaid. They remind us that life’s experiences, even the painful or unspoken, carry insight. Through poetry, we can reflect on these moments and see the invisible threads connecting our past to our present. “The angriest bull to tame is the one within.” – Vee Nelly Reflection and Self-Awareness Excerpt: “Walking ...

Trapped

Image
Trapped Sometimes I long to feel the sun upon my skin, but my hurt, my pain, my tears of rain keep drowning me. I wonder — am I going insane? If only I could breach the surface above, I would become as free as a little bird flying the longing sky in the glare of the sun. But I am trapped beneath. Oh God, can You hear my cries in this ocean so deep? Can anyone see my face? Lend a hand, pull me out of this disgrace. I must keep pressing on that matrix mirror, my face resting upon it beneath. I don’t know anymore which is up or down. I look up every time the moon and sun rise, but I see no one — only my reflection. Someone help me! “Who am I?” It is the question we all ask ourselves throughout our lifetime, whether we admit it or not. Some say that when you are about to die, your entire life flashes before your eyes. Well, in my case, my life flashed before my eyes on many occasions, but I didn’t die. I didn’t want to die. But now… What is an island but a body of land surrou...

Man Versus Light – Poetry by Nelly Vee on SoundCloud

Image
Man Versus Light Written many moons ago by Nelly Vee and published in the poetry collection Chronicles — Where Shadows Breathe , Man Versus Light is a lyrical reflection on strength, vulnerability, and the disarming power of love. The piece captures the inner voice of a man raised to be fearless, a protector by nature, who suddenly finds himself undone by the quiet brilliance of a woman whose presence feels almost celestial. Through rich imagery of light, fire, wolves, and the moon, the song explores the tension between pride and surrender. The narrator compares himself to a moth drawn helplessly toward a radiant flame. Her gaze becomes more than beauty—it becomes revelation, exposing the hidden thoughts and guarded emotions behind the armor he once believed defined his strength. At its core, the piece examines a deeper truth about love. The man is not afraid of the woman herself. He fears only the possibility that he may not be able to give her everything she deserves. Ye...

My Photo Promptus Written many moons ago by Nelly Vee and published in the poetry collection Chronicles — Where Shadows Breathe , My Photo Promptus is a sensual and deeply reflective piece that blends admiration, curiosity, and emotional pursuit into a vivid lyrical journey. The work captures the voice of a man captivated not only by a woman’s beauty but by the mystery that surrounds her. Her smile, her voice, and the quiet depth in her eyes awaken both passion and fascination. She becomes more than a figure of desire; she becomes a puzzle, an enigma whose mind and spirit draw him in as strongly as her physical presence. Through rich metaphors of tropical rain, hidden treasure maps, and uncharted terrain, the song explores the idea that true attraction is layered. Physical beauty sparks the flame, but it is the intellect, personality, and guarded soul beneath the surface that fuels the deeper pursuit. At its core, My Photo Promptus is about longing to discover the s...

If Friendship Has No Edges

Image
If Friendship Has No Edges Originally written by Nelly Vee. Inspired by two souls who found each other unexpectedly across oceans and distance. One knows exactly what he feels and what he needs. The other insists it must remain friendship. So a simple question rises between them: If it is friendship, then where are its boundaries? Where do the lines live? But she offers no definition. Instead, she retreats inward, protecting the fragile places within her. She admits only this. She is complicated. She is still broken in places. And until those pieces are gathered and made whole again, she is not ready to call it anything more than friendship. And so the quiet question lingers in the air between them: If friendship has no edges, where does love begin? ▶ Listen on SoundCloud #IfFriendshipHasNoEdges, #NellyVee, #SoundCloudPoetry, #PoetryAboutLove, #FriendshipBoundaries, #LyricalPoem, #EmotionalPoetry, #PoeticStorytelling, #CreativeExpression, #L...
